Who we are

Smoke the Bees are an alt psych rock band from Turin, Italy, formed in 2012. Music is intense, atmospheric, reflective, as well as tuneful, irreverent and catchy. It combines diverse genres and influences and creates a distinctive sound with a leading thread, generating a natural empathy from the first listening. Sources of inspiration are Radiohead, Syd Barrett, John Frusciante, and the Icelandic music scene.

What we mean

A beekeeper smokes the bees to make them dizzy and get the honey with no danger. In the same way humans get lost in everyday distractions while their lives go by. This is a modernist metaphor about society's homogenisation and individual alienation.
